READ ME (no, really, read me)

Wednesdays:
Trivia is 7pm ‘til close & it gets loud. If you need a quiet space, take this into consideration (although, as a bar, we’re not terribly quiet any time of day)

Cost:
Free

Stipulation: You have to buy stuff (The Incubator is free to reserve but we’re still a business that needs to pay our staff, so grab a happy hour margarita or a green chile cheeseburger while you’re here). If you aren’t purchasing food or drinks and are simply looking for a free spot to study or meet up, the best & closest spot is the Avondale Public Library and we will be happy to give you directions.

Outside Food:
Not allowed. Not only is this a health code violation, we’re a fully operational bar & restaurant and we rely on your business to continue to pay our people. You wouldn’t take your own food into any other bar or restaurant so please don’t bring it here. Our kitchen folks are happy to make something you will love! If you have dietary restrictions, let us know so we can accommodate you.

Capabilities:
Wifi, TV with HDMI hookups and casting abilities, dry erase board/markers

Seating: 10 people seated at the table, 15 people if just viewing a presentation or participating in discussion (some seats are not directly at the table)

Space & Noise: It doesn’t have a door or ceiling & is not meant to be sound-proof. We want you to be able to be at the bar while you work. We will not turn the music down during regular operating hours since we have to provide an environment suitable for all guests throughout the entire bar all day long.

Order: At the bar

Don’t: Book The Incubator for a class or workshop and then charge folks to attend. This is rude to both us and your attendees since we don’t charge you to use the space. We will kindly direct you to a few resources for which you can pay to host this style of event.

Booking: The Incubator can be booked up to 60 days in advance. If you are unable to book the time and date you prefer, it means The Incubator is unavailable or already reserved at that time. Use the confirmation email you received after booking to cancel or change your reservation.

Note from the owner, Rylie: The intended use of The Incubator is for brainstorming, big ideas, and creative thinking. It is provided free-of-charge to help fuel the future of our communities and the world. The Incubator is ideal for lab meetings, journal clubs, team meetings, study sessions, or any other type of think session. I wrote most of my manuscripts, grants, and even my PhD dissertation sitting in bars (and at Lucy’s Coffee & Tea). I hope you find The Lumbar a comforting and energizing place to do the same.
